HCP Celebrates Misa De Gallo

Holy Cross Parish (HCP) joyfully starts the Filipino tradition of Misa de Gallo (literally means rooster’s mass) on Dec. 16.  This Filipino tradition are nine dawn masses celebrated before the birth of our Lord Jesus. Adorned with colorful parol or Filipino lanterns, HCP welcomes her thousands of parishioners  for a spiritual preparation for Christmas.

Unique to the Diocese of Marbel, under the pastoral care of Bishop Dinualdo Gutierrez DD, is that, instead of priests giving homilies in their parishes or chapels during dawn masses, selected and trained parishioners are given the chance to share their reflection on the year’s general theme and sub-themes. Preparing the faithful for the Year of the Laity in 2014,  the Diocese’s theme is dubbed: The Laity Empowered for New Evangelization.

Join us in this spiritual preparation for Christmas at 3:00 am and 4:30 am from Dec 16-24!

Christmas midnight masses are scheduled at 6:00 pm, 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm on Dec. 24.

Merry Christmas to all!
